Raised in a large artistic and creative family, Kurt Larsen majored in fine art at Chico State University and the University of California Berkeley. For more than forty years, he has enjoyed the process and challenges of creating works of art.
“My paintings are expressions of my spiritual connection to nature and are influenced by my love of traveling both near and far. I use texture and color to evoke an emotional response in the viewer.”
Kurt moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Bloomington, Indiana in 1993. He has been a longtime contributor to exhibitions, art events and fundraisers in both communities. Some of his largest canvases were purchased by former IU President Michael McRobbie, and by the Joseph Waldman Foundation for the Kelley School of Business art collection. He notes, “Of equal esteem, my works hang in many homes and businesses throughout California, Indiana, and far beyond.”
