Erin Duff

Erin Duff is a fulltime medical illustrator based in Bloomington, Indiana. She creates digital anatomical landscapes for a medical device company. When she's not illustrating aneurysms, kidney stones, or ruptured ear drums, you can find her taking reference photos of moss and lichen in the forest for her paintings.

She says, "I've always used art as a creative outlet to release frustration, anxiety, and pent up energy since I was a child. I can't foresee a future where I'm not painting of nature journaling as a form of meditation.

For me, painting is like a continuous itch that I can't scratch. Something inside me will not settle unless I have a painting in progress or something brewing for my next creative venture. I'm less attached to the final piece than I am the process of creating itself. I instantly lose interest in the finished image and scramble the pieces within seconds of fitting the last piece of a puzzle. Like puzzles, the thrill is within the paintbrush, paint medium, and application, not the canvas."

Erin says that her passion is working with oil paint. She is currently raising two "small pollywogs" and has transitioned to watercolor to sneak in shorter painting windows as they open.  By purchasing Erin's reproductions, you are directly contributing to her "forever dream" of building a modest art studio. A space for endless creation, without the distraction of household chores, work, and her "beloved kiddos."

Erin attended the Cleveland Institute of Art, and the Rochester Institute of Technology, earning a BFA, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Medical Illustration. She also attended the University of Toronto, earning a Master of Science in Biomedical Communications.

Juniper Art Gallery is thrilled to offer reproductions from Erin's exquisite original watercolor and oil paintings.
