Bound by Nature is a commissioned series of twenty original Art Nouveau-inspired illustrations created for the wedding of Erica Nadolkski and Jordan Evans.

Each poster celebrates a different insect personally selected by the bride, pairing it with native flora and elements of its natural habitat. Drawing inspiration from vintage natural history plates and the decorative compositions of the Art Nouveau movement, every illustration is framed by ornamental motifs unique to its featured species, incorporating elements from its life cycle, host plants, and surrounding ecosystem.

Originally designed as table markers for the couple’s wedding reception, the complete series extends beyond its ceremonial purpose as a celebration of transformation, growth, and the interconnectedness of nature. Like marriage itself, metamorphosis is a process of continual change. Reflected throughout the lives of the insects depicted in these illustrations.

Following the wedding, the collection will be exhibited at Juniper Gallery in October as a complete body of work with reproductions available.
