Keith J. Hampton

Keith J. Hampton got his start in commercial art in 1977 at the age of 18, working in publishing, first at The Saturday Evening Post company and later at IC Publishing as their cover artist, creating illustrations for five quarterly publications. At 25, he went into marketing and advertising. In 1995, he opened it'sALLart, a commercial design and fine art firm. He retired from design in 2017 to concentrate on painting and sculpting.

Hampton has been active in fine art for decades, first showing at the IMA consignment gallery (1982 &1983) and at several regional art fairs through the 1990s. In 2003 he opened the it'sALLart gallery in Fountain Square, Indianapolis. Two popular solo exhibitions helped gain name recognition. He later showed in regional galleries including Closson's (Cincinnati), Ashwood Artisans (New York), Woodburn and Westcott (Indianapolis), Sullivan Munce (Zionsville), Gallery 930 (Louisville), Gallery 924 (Indianapolis) and in Carmel with 2009 and 2011 solo shows and another solo show in 2017 at Gallery 924. After moving to southern Indiana, he showed at Bourne-Schweitzer Gallery in New Albany with a solo show (Particles of Change) in 2023. He has won many awards for his fine art and illustration work.

Hampton's work is purposely eclectic and embodies many art types, including realism, pointillism, impressionism, surrealism, cubism and abstract. He actively pursues a multi-faceted approach, and his work is influenced by nature, dreams, social concerns, and politics.
