This transparent watercolor is an absolute masterpiece! Painted in 1985, at the height of the artist's long career (1940's through early 2000's). It depicts in fine detail the natural world, with gold finches "wingin' in" to feast on a patch of thistle.
This painting won "Best Indiana Painting" at the Pan American Games' Art Exhibition. The "Pan Am Games" was an international sporting event held in Indianapolis in 1987.
The image size is 23.5"x17.5, and is triple matted in the original grey-toned wooden frame to 31.5x26" (frame is in excellent condition).
